What type of music do you like to listen to?

Kainde, 16, The Government Science Secondary School, Abuja: We have drums and during religious festivals we use them a lot. We are a science school so we don't have many musical instruments. Sometime we get music from abroad but we do listen to our own. I do use my hands for whistling [demonstrates].

In Nigeria we have teacher strikes - do you have teacher strikes?

Adam, 15, Shirley High School, Croydon, London: I don't think it is disruptive but we do miss out on important education that we need because as I am in year 11. It's quite hard as we've got GCSEs coming up.

I would like to know if you have bullying in your school?

Georga, 15, Shirley High School, Croydon, London: There is a lot of bullying but it gets sorted out if you go and tell the teacher. It gets sorted out the same day as we do have a good school and it gets dealt with.

Dean, Shirley High School, Croydon, London: Yes we do have bullying, but there are ways to deal with it as you can tell the prefect, you can tell the teacher and you should tell someone as its not good to keep it silent - yes we do have bullying but we do sort it out.

Is it forbidden to have relationships between girls and boys - like kissing?

Chris, Shirley High School, Croydon, London: Yes we do have relationships and they are common. The age of consent here is 16.

Larissa, Shirley High School, Croydon, London: Yes they are common and it is not unusual to kiss a boy sometimes on the cheek and sometimes on the lips if you are in a relationship.

Isaac, the Government Science Secondary School, Abuja: I do have a girlfriend but if we are caught kissing a girl without having any emotions behind it you may be taken as a bad boy and its not part of our culture

Are there any new punishments in Nigeria, because I come from Nigeria and I used to get punished. Do you get flogged by your teachers? And why?

Ester, the Government Science Secondary School, Abuja: I got flogged every time I did something wrong. I felt so bad and it's painful.
