Ronnie breaks down RnB in Atlanta

See the show pics | 1Xtra Live pics

"Atlanta seems to be a breeding ground for natural talent. Home to the likes of Usher, Jagged Edge, Outkast, 112 and of course 'The big little Man' Jermaine Dupri, all of these artists (and then some) have gone multi-platinum and are key figures in the R&B game today!

Atlanta also has an inbound culture for creating new sounds, i.e. Lil Jon with his Crunk n B style and most recently, Jermaine Dupri spearheading the Snap Music Sound (Dem Franchise Boyz, D4L, etc)

You've only got to go back to Ray Charles (pictured above) whose first big hit, 'I Got A Woman' fused R&B with gospel, which was sacrilege back then but innovative, fresh and it worked. Atlanta has always had a tradition for new shapes in music and I wan't to find some of this on our trip - I want to find out what makes Atlanta tick."
