People born in Nigeria are overwhelmingly concentrated in London � principally the capital's south. The Nigerian-born population rose in percentage terms over the 10 years up to 2001, reflecting a general growth in African communities in Britain. That growth was seen mostly in the south London boroughs of Lambeth and Southwark. The figures show Peckham - one of the most diverse areas of the country - with the most Nigerian-born people in Britain: 3,189.
