Peter Dunstan, 85, said: "This morning I got up and I thought - 60 years ago I was free!

"I was in a railway repair workshop for the last year of the war.

"The three civilian Japs who were in charge, they wouldn't let the Jap Army near the workshops.

"They treated us with great respect. I was lucky."
