Former MEP Michael Elliott, 72, from Ealing has been politically active all his life.

"There were a lot of things that needed to be changed in the world and I thought I could make a difference," he said.

He currently campaigns against aircraft noise and heads a group of local councils keeping a close eye on airport expansion.
