Pam Brown has been a member of Hastings Borough Council since 1968.

Now aged "over 75", the Liberal Democrat was made mayor earlier this year.

She said: "I've kept going because I've always felt there was a lot to do.

"Local government is such a transient thing, people come and go, but I've got knowledge of what's gone on in the past."
