Monitoring proceedings are hundreds of election observers � both from the international community and local Palestinian NGOs. European monitors like this one are not allow to talk about any problems with the vote until their mission leader unveils his findings on Monday.

Observers look for several things affecting a free and fair election, including: travel restrictions imposed in Palestinian areas by the occupying Israeli forces and voters unable to vote because of registration problems.
