In Hall 1, Abu Mazen establishes an early lead that cannot be caught by Mr Barghouti. In the end, he gets 195 votes to Mr Barghouti's 111, with the rest a long way behind. Other rooms have an even better showing for the Fatah veteran and Arafat ally. At the end of the night 53% or the 1,392 voters backed him, compared with 23% for Mr Barghouti.
