The photo

The photo was taken by me during my visit to Sikkim in December 2009.
It's called Lake Gurudongmar, which is one of the highest lakes in the world situated in India (Sikkim State) at an elevation of 17,100 feet; it's one of the sources of River Teesta and remains frozen during winters with an exception of one small portion which has been blessed by Guru Padmasambhava. This is a sacred lake for Sikhs, Buddhists and local people.
The Lake is quite close to China border, so the area is patrolled by Indian army.
Its quite difficult to visit the place during winter as the roads are mostly blocked by snow, I'm one of those lucky ones to visit the place in winter and relish the spectacular view of the lake.
