Between the sunshine and showers, Weather Watchers managed to spot some fantastic funnel clouds on Saturday.

John managed to spot the funnel cloud passing over Naburn, North Yorkshire, just after midday
A funnel cloud is a cone-shaped twisting column of air that extends downwards from the base of a larger cloud without reaching the ground. If it hits the ground, it becomes a tornado; if it hits a body of water it becomes a waterspout.
Funnel clouds usually come from cumulonimbus clouds, meaning that heavy rain, hail, thunder and lightning may be on the way.

Selbyspotter says that this was one of two funnel clouds swirling in Selby, North Yorkshire
