Irma continues to be a dangerous hurricane

Hurricane Irma is now the second most powerful Atlantic hurricane in history and also holds the record for the longest a hurricane has maintained average winds of at least 180mph (290km/h).

It will continue to bring catastrophic damage to the Caribbean in the coming days and could threaten Florida by the weekend.
