As a boy, Nick Miller would make his own weather symbols and stick them on his father's roadmaps while doing his best Michael Fish impression.
So it's a dream come true for him to have gone from an audience of none to millions.
Nick joined BBC Weather in 2007 and the journey to national weather presenter has been a varied one. It started in BBC Local Radio and included four years as a news reporter and weather anchor in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains in Montana.
While in the US, Nick was honoured for his work to raise awareness of the dangers of severe weather and his reports on the impact of flooding on a Native American reservation.
As well as presenting weather forecasts, Nick reports for BBC News on weather and presents the BBC News Weather Review of the Year. He also presents the weather on BBC Springwatch and Autumnwatch.
Nick's greatest challenge has yet to be overcome and that is to keep the squirrels off his garden birdfeeder. Several ever more complicated designs have always been conquered by the cunning creatures, so if you have any tips, he'd love to hear them.
