A shiny, summery pop outfit, Mattoidz are a favourite from West Wales.
2004 was mostly a live gigging year, with 65 gigs across Wales and into England. Meanwhile the band were working on a release which eventually became the Radio Cymru Roc a Pop award-nominated Y Dyn Telesales single, "a song about a telesales man selling timeshares in Rhyl," explains Thomas.

Having laid the foundations it was time to release their debut album, and in 2005 Edrych Yn Well O Bell (Rasp) saw the light of day. It was well received by press and media in Wales, with The Daily Post describing it as "music to pogo to - like Californian band Weezer, but imbued with the feel of an altogether different west coast."
It's not only been domestic press they've accrued, however. Even Ireland's premier music magazine, Hot Press, has hailed the sheer energy and melodic sensibilities of the band.
