1975: A new bedtime essential – the duvet!

A new household item which would help keep the cold away was demonstrated on daytime TV; the duvet – also known as the continental quilt. The programme, which was aimed at older people, explained that these new squishy bed coverings were as good as three or four blankets and were light enough to carry downstairs and use on the sofa. Item presented by Roy Hudd and Irene Thomas.
