Djonny signed up for a Silk Screens workshop run by Video Nation Network. From this he made his own film reflecting on how his Chinese roots impact on his life in England.

As part of Video Nation Network's Silk Screens project we held workshops across the country to help the British Chinese community to tell their own stories on film. Djonny was a media student who joined the three day workshop in Birmingham. He shot and edited his own film which is published on the VNN site. Following on from his experience, Djonny was asked to help film at the BBC Big Screens outdoor event, which involving cultural displays from the local Chinese community and showcased Silk Screens videos, including Djonny's.
