Introducing Annie
Annie Price is a TV presenter, fitness trainer and mum to two children, Sonny and Lennie. You might recognise her from her documentaries for BBC Three, including Annie out of the Ashes and Tiredness, Tears and Tantrums: Diary Of A New Mum.
Sonny was born in 2018 and Lennie arrived in late 2020. She recognises the importance of talking and playing to children's development:
Tiny Happy People is such an important campaign because vocabulary and communication are hugely important. The sooner little ones can pick up little words, the sooner they can start understanding you.
AnnieHi, I'm Annie Price, I'm an ambassador for Tiny Happy People, and I have a little one that's very nearly two years old. I think Tiny Happy People is such an important campaign because vocabulary and communication are hugely important. I really struggle sometimes with Sonnie, you know, trying to increase his vocabulary and give him new words.
[Speaking to Sonnie] What noise does a dragon make? Rarrr.
I've found this campaign gives me loads of little ideas and titbits of how to introduce new words and language into games that actually he enjoys and I'm not getting really bored of.
[Speaking to Sonnie] How about we get something out the bag and then we have tea?
Tiny Happy People is going to help me bond with Sonnie because I can always just jump on my phone and find different ideas for activities for us to do together.
[Speaking to Sonnie] What colour? What colour is it? Red!
Some of the activities that we've already tried are 'what's in the bag?' and building blocks.
Another activity we love to do together is reading. It's just a really good way to calm down and have a little snuggle together.
On a personal level, I love these activities and I'm definitely going to be telling all my friends and parents how to use them because they give you loads of ideas for things you can do at home.
I agreed to be a Tiny Happy People ambassador because I think it all just starts with the very basics. With little ones, the sooner they can actually pick up the little words, the sooner they can start communicating and understanding the world around them.

Annie loves how Tiny Happy People gives her easy, quick ideas for play, from great ways to bond over a book to new games like what's in the bag. She's even found out what toddlers like Sonny learn from playing with building blocks.
