Shivani Rattan (singer and vocal leader) introduces 'live more & love more'
Shivani:
I'm so pleased that you've joined me today to do some singing. The song we're looking at is “live more & love more” by Cat Burns. You might have heard of Cat. She's a pop singer who got her big break on social media. She celebrates difference and she champions positivity, which is certainly at the heart of this song. We're going to be singing Hannah King's arrangement of “live more & love more”. Unlike the original, this version is for three groups of voices: upper voices, which will sing the top line of the song (also known as sopranos); middle voices (you might have heard them called altos) and finally lower voices (or basses). “live more & love more” usessome unexpected and really interesting rhythms. So we're going to have a go at some of these in our exercises today. That will mean that you're familiar with them when you sing the whole song.

Shivani:
The canteen might not feel like the typical place to make music, but we really can sing anywhere and we've grouped you like this to see if we can make the most of the acoustic and experiment with what sound we get out of a different space. When we sing, it's like a workout and you wouldn't run a 5k or play sports without warming up.
So that's what we're gonna do first. Warm up our bodies and our voices ready to sing really healthily. So let's get warmed up with some sliding scales.
