Stacey Dooley attends a workshop run for year 10 by the charity Tender. The workshop demonstrates the importance of being aware of what constitutes pestering, rape, pornography and manipulative behaviour in relationships.
This is done through the use of different discussion techniques. Stacey takes part in the discussion and has the opportunity to talk to the group leaders afterwards.
The consequences of lack of knowledge are discussed, as is the potential for disclosure.

Teacher Notes
The clip would help to raise awareness of what makes a relationship start to become abusive.
It would be useful if the class ideas on each of the key issues, pestering, rape, child pornography and manipulation, were collated prior to viewing.
They could be asked what the laws are relating to these issues. It would be appropriate to pause the clip to get ideas from the class and to promote discussion.
After viewing, the class could discuss their findings, feelings and how their initial views have been affected by the clip. What could they do to protect themselves from abuse? What might happen if they don’t protect themselves?
