KS2 Italian: A day at an Italian primary school

Buki introduces her primary school, her teacher and friends.

We find out about their favourite subjects, what exercises they do in the gym, what they eat for lunch, and what their favourite games are at playtime.

This clip is from the BBC2 series, Being Italian.

Teacher Notes

  • This clip could be used to enable pupils to appreciate the differences and similarities between their own school experience and that of in Italy.
  • The clip could be paused to focus on the different areas within the school to allow pupils to collate their own visual references to compare and contrast Italian school settings with their own. A visual display of their findings could be created, included bilingual labelling.

Curriculum Notes

This video is relevant for teaching Italian at KS2 in England and Wales, KS2 in Northern Ireland and second level in Scotland.
