Four British student challenge each other on their knowledge of French adjectives in a game called Sac à Surprise.
In this game, each student takes turns pulling a random object out of a bag.
They then have twenty seconds to describe the object using as many French adjectives as possible.
One point is awarded for each correct French adjective.
The winner then gets to keep the bag and all the goodies it contains.
This clip is from the series French Grammar for 14-16s.
Teacher Notes
You could set up a challenge similar to that in the film.
Bring in a selection of random everyday items.
Split your class into teams, and get each team to nominate one person at a time to take on the other teams.
Get them to take it in turns to come up with an adjective to describe one of the everyday items selected by you for each round.
If they can’t think of one, they are out. Keep going until there is one person left.
Curriculum Notes
This clip is relevant for teaching French at KS3 and KS4 in England, Wales and Northern Ireland and at National 4 and 5 in Scotland.
