 | | | | | The members of Nitch, vocalist/synth James Tuck, guitarist Kris Livall, bassist Matthew James and drummer Ben Stiff, use their limited resources, to trya and craft atmospheric electronica with gritty, muscular riffs. They claim the end result pushes the boundary of melding the avant-garde with contemporary metal. Based around the vision of front man James Tuck, Nitch started as a solo project in 2000 whilst James was studying for a music degree at University.
In the winter of 2002, James hooked up with his long time friends (whom hed been in a sixth form band back in 1998) to complete the line-up. Before Matt, Kris and Ben joined NITCH they were the music behind rap-metal outfit MISS:SPELT YOOF. Influenced and inspired by artists as diverse as Nine Inch Nails, David Bowie and Aphex Twin to Pantera, Gary Numan and Metallica. To Nitch, safety is not an option. As Front man James Tuck says "The best quote I can think of is from Wayne's World - 'Led Zeppelin didn't write tunes everybody liked - they left that to the Bee Gees'. Too many bands concentrate on being liked, rather than being their selves." Read a live review of Nitch at The Priors Inn in Bury St Edmunds. | |
