Game-by game action as Tim Henman storms into the semi-finals of Wimbledon following a 6-3 5-7 6-4 6-3 victory over Brazilian Andre Sa.
Fourth set:

Henman makes a nervous start to the game with a double fault and struggles for the opening three points to register a first serve. Finally a first serve lands in and Sa's return heads long. With two match points, he has a chance to wrap it up but plants his volley into the net. He makes no mistake with the second volley and cruises into the semi-finals.

A double fault is the only blip this time around from Sa, who keeps himself in the match by outhitting Henman from the back of the court.

Sa is still causing Henman too much trouble and the Briton knows that, should he make it to the semi-finals, he will have to improve his all-round game drastically. Sa goes on to hold serve.

A slight opening comes for Sa as Henman slips mid-court and the Brazilian powers another of his trademark backhands down the line for 30-30. It only briefly stems the tide of Henman's growing momentum.

Sa refuses to go quietly and gets within a whisker of a break once more, reducing Henman to 15-40 after some less than convincing serving. But the serve comes to life at the right time, Sa has no reply and the next four points go Henman's way.

Henman has the chance to go 40-0 up on Sa's serve but his mishit results with the ball landing firmly into the heart of the net. Sa brings the scores level at 30-30 but once again Henman uses the lob to good effect for break point. The Brazilian calmly plays his way out of trouble but break point 15 of the match comes again for Henman. He takes it in style, whipping the ball across the face of the net. Sa stretches but cannot reach.

Sa refuses to be outdone just yet and fires another of his blistering groundstrokes to try and curtail Henman's momentum. It proves to be only a mini boost as the crowd favourite takes the first game of the fourth set.
Third set:

The rallies are coming thick and fast. Sa takes the first, mishits to lose the second and is outplayed by Henman on the third and fourth. The Brit is pumped up with two set points. A backhand into the tramlines from a wide Sa serve scuppers the first but Henman cajoles the ball into the court to leave his opponent stranded and take the set.

Both players trade blows early on, a Henman forehand matched by a Sa volley. When it counts at 30-30, Henman finally produces the goods, a sublime angled drop volley giving him game point. A Sa return strikes the net and ends Henman's first chance of sealing the game. But he varies his serve intelligently for the next two points and takes the game.

After a sluggish last game, the British number one shows lovely finesse on the volley to go 30-0 up on the Sa serve. Sa regains composure for the next three points but another visit to the net by Henman brings deuce. The Briton then attacks the Brazilian's serve, producing a delightful cross-court winnner. In the end, Sa's serve-volleying proves too strong.

Henman is looking ill at ease out there but manages to win the game nonetheless, thanks mostly to his big serve. At the moment, Sa looks the better of the two on court.

At last, a comfortable service game and Henman wins it with the loss of just a single point.

Both men are showing delightful touch across the court, but Sa's evades him with the scores at 30-30. The Brazilian has an easy chance to bury the ball but volleys it into the base of the net. He makes amends with a volley to stop break point. Two more break points come and go for Henman as Sa produces some timely serves, finally gets advantage and makes it count with a volley.

The momentum flows between both men in this ever-changing contest. Sa tries to burrow his way back with another two fearsome backhands to change the score from 40-15 to deuce. Henman takes a tumble on a serve-volley and break point looms once more, but three rapid serves settle the Brit.

Two passing shots show that Henman has finally woken up from his Centre Court slumber and win him the first two points of the game. And he gets two break points of his own as Sa experiences an unsuccessful foray at the net. He takes the break at the first opportunity, the Brazilian palming the ball into the net.

Henman does not look altogether comfortable out there. Sa's backhand flourishes take the scores to 0-30 against the serve and another dismal forehand by the Briton brings up another two set points. Sa then breaks, proving too strong from the back of the court as he scoops the ball over the net.
Second set:

Henman can consider that a set thrown away after letting slip break points two games previously. He proves no better in this game as Sa puts his top spin forehand into good use.

Winner number six from Sa opens the 11th game of the set and number seven straight afterwards reduces Henman to 0-30. Sa earns himself two break points as he continually blasts the ball at his opponent before finally passing him with a backhand. An ace saves one break point but Henman hits the ball long to give Sa the break.

Henman turns the tables completely, leaving Sa running all over the court with a combination of sweet groundstrokes and deft volleys. Two break points crop up when Sa, clearly nervous, snaps a forehand into the net. The Brazilian saves the first with a whipped forehand, the second with a powerful serve before levelling the scores.

The British number one looks to be cruising at 40-0 up but one sniping forehand by Sa and two rare volley errors by Henman bring up the first deuce of the set. Sa gets the break point with a smash but Henman volleys deep to give the Brazilian little chance. An ace and a service winner end the danger spell.

Henman tries a more attacking style on the Sa serve, unleashing a blistering passing shot and a stop volley to put his opponent under pressure at 15-30. A sliced backhand into the net, though, finally gifts the game to Sa.

So far the weather looks good, with only a 20% risk of showers. Henman produces the best shot of the day in the sunshine, lobbing Sa beautifully to go 30-15 up on the Brazilian's serve. Henman takes the scores to deuce with a deep forehand but his opponent serves his way out of trouble.

Sa makes a confident start on Centre Court, holding his serve comfortably to level proceedings in the second set.

Henman opens up with a simple serve-volley for the first point of the day but the nerves show as he follows it with a double fault. The serve kicks in from there, his fastest clocking in at 119mph.
First set:
Henman 6-3 Sa
Henman takes the initiative with a running backhand drive volley and goes 30-love up when Sa fails to put away a simple volley at the net on the next point.
A glorious backhand return down the line gives the Briton three break points but Sa saves the first with a very deep serve.
However, on the next point Sa puts a forehand into the net to hand Henman the first set.
Play is immediately suspended as heavy rain begins to fall.

Henman complains about something halfway through the game, possibly the poor light, but wins the game with ease.
Sa now has to win his serve to stay in the set.

Henman wins the second point with a forehand that hits the sidelines, but Sa is in complete control and again holds his serve with ease.

Despite being one of the finest volleyers in the game Henman is spending a lot of time at the back of the court.
At 30-love up he finally serves and volleys and puts the ball away with ease as he holds his serve to love.

Sa shrugs off his disappointment at failing to break Henman in the last game and races through his service without dropping a point.

Henman stays back on a couple of his first serves and from 40-15 up finds himself at deuce.
After a couple of deuces a delightful passing shot gives Sa a break point but he pops a Henman drop shot into the net.
Sa forces another break point and Henman produces a fine backhand volley to win the point, before closing out the game with an ace and a service winner.

A fine backhand return puts Henman 30-love up. Sa fights his way back to 30-30 but leaves a floated Henman return which drops in to go break-point down.
Sa saves it with a solid serve but Henman comes up with a delightful lob and a crunching forehand down the line to grab the initiative again.
He then out-rallies Sa from the back of the court to clinch the first break of the night.
Henman 1-1 Sa
Henman wins the first two points impressively but is pulled back to 30-all and goes game point down when he dumps a poor backhand into the net.
Sa puts his return into the net and two points later the match is suspended with the game score at deuce.
When the match resumes Henman is in commanding form on the first point and takes the game as Sa misses with an attempted pass down the line.

Henman wins the first point after dictating play from the back of the court. He takes the second as well to increase the pressure on Sa, but the Brazilian hauls himself out of trouble with some solid serving.
