But the 19-year-old Scot's ambitious coach is still not satisfied. Baltacha is still only ranked 158th in the world and was beaten by fellow Briton Anne Keothavong 6-2 4-6 6-4 in the semi-finals of the latest LTA championship at Scotstoun last week. But reaching the third round of Wimbledon has helped the Scot overtake Julie Pullin in the latest rankings.
"There's still lots of hard work to be done. "Her ambition is to get much higher in the world rankings. "While it's good that she is British number one, I'd much rather she was fourth in Britain and in the world's top 70." |
