Tykes power on
Braam van Straaten
Van Straaten was at his creative best
Harlequins 23-33 Leeds

Leeds temporarily moved to the top of the Zurich Premiership as they maintained their 100% record in the league with victory over Harlequins.

The Tykes travelled to the Stoop following impressive wins over Leicester and London Irish.

And they made it three out of three courtesy of two tries from in-form full-back Dan Scarborough and a total of 18 points from the boot of South Africa's Braam van Straaten.

Van Straaten was at his creative best for the visitors and, after an early Paul Burke penalty, helped to put his side into a clear advantage.

I knew we could do well, but not this well
Leeds director of rugby Phil Davies

The former Springbok chipped ahead and Scarborough scooped the ball up for the first of his two tries after 18 minutes.

It was Quins, though, who went into the interval in front as Viliame Satala scored the first of his side's two tries, latching on to a Keith Wood pass deep in Leeds' territory.

Burke duly converted and added a drop goal to move 13-10 ahead.

But it proved not to be enough to halt a third consecutive defeat.

From there, Leeds lifted the tempo of the contest and once again it was Scarborough who found his way through the opposition defence.

The Tykes full-back was set free by replacement Chris Hall and was virtually unchallenged to the line.

This ruins my weekend and I am feeling pretty poor right now
Harlequins coach Mark Evans

Van Straaten was on target with the conversion before a Will Greenwood try levelled the scores at 23-23 with 10 minutes on the clock.

The England centre's celebrations, though, were shortlived as once again Quins' defence buckled under the relentless Leeds' attack.

Van Straaten's fourth penalty of the afternoon and a conversion of Cameron Mather's late score moved Leeds top wth 12 points, and Harlequins bottom with a single point.
