Broncos launch 'prop idol'
London Broncos fans
Broncos fans could soon be cheering a new star
London Broncos will launch a nationwide "prop idol" competition this weekend as they search for a future Super League star.

Regional trials, sponsored by Tetley's, will be held across the UK on Sunday and a final trial will take place in London on 26 January.

Three players wil be invited to spend a month training with the Broncos and will appear in the club's pre-season friendly with Warrington on 2 February.

The winner will be unveiled at the Broncos' first home game of the new season on 23 February.

Provided they are of sufficient standard, a contract with the London Broncos will be offered to the winner.

Coach Tony Rea said: "This is not normally the way that we would go about selecting players but we believe there is a great pool of talent out there that has yet to be tapped.

"I'm looking for someone who is fast, strong, agile and determined.

"So, anyone who thinks they have what it takes should come along and have a go, whether they have played rugby before or not."
