Giants step for Colella
Anthony Colella #11 of the Rabbitohs looks to offload during the Round 6 NRL match between the South Sydney Rabbitohs and the Parramatta Eels
Colella (left) was injured for most of last season
South Sydney forward Anthony Colella has become the latest overseas star to join Huddersfield Giants.

The 28-year-old, who also played for the Canberra Raiders, has signed a two-year deal with the Super League new boys.

"Anthony is a guy who could fill any role in the pack," said Giants coach Tony Smith.

Colella, whose 2002 season was ruined by injury, joins Brandon Costin, Julian Bailey and Jim Gannon on the Giants' overseas quota.

Meanwhile, Smith, currently on holiday in Australia, is searching for a replacement for full-back Ivan Cleary.

He pulled out of a move to England in order to take up a coaching role with NRL champions Sydney Roosters.
