The hooter goes to signal the end of a thrilling match as Bradford celebrate booking their place in the Grand Final. Saints will get a second chance when they take on Wigan next Friday for the right to face the Bulls. 78 mins: The referee fails to spot a forward pass from Saints but a fumble from Martin Gleeson looks to have ended the home side's hopes. 77 mins: St Helens 26-28 Bradford. Saints set up a frantic finale as Anthony Stewart goes over in the corner to leave Paul Sculthorpe needing to kick the conversion to level the scores. But Sculthorpe sends his kick wide of the posts from right on the touchline to leave the Bulls just two points ahead. 72 mins: Paul Sculthorpe surrenders possession with a bad mistake at a play-the-ball as Saints continue to be frustrated in the wet conditions. 70 mins: Paul Deacon looks to edge Bradford further out of reach but his drop-goal attempt drifts just wide of the posts. 66 mins: Another Saints attack comes to nothing as Sean Long throws a bad pass just as they are preparing to crank up the pressure. 64 mins: Saints have the chance to hit straight back when Paul Sculthorpe steals the ball off Michael Withers. But Darren Britt is held up just before the line and the Bulls force a turnover to protect their lead. 61 mins: St Helens 22-28 Bradford. The Bulls take the wind out of Saints' sails with a repeat of the tactics that served them so well in the first half. There is some doubt over whether Mike Forshaw has touched down after Paul Deacon's kick but the video referee awards the try. Deacon, however, misses his conversion attempt to leave the door ajar for Saints. 59 mins: Paul Deacon mounts a dangerous break from deep for the Bulls but fumbles the ball as he tries to kick forward. 56 mins: Bradford finally find some relief as they attack the Saints line but Paul Wellens scrambles the ball away to safety. 54 mins: St Helens 22-24 Bradford. Saints' storming recovery continues as Robbie Paul fails to deal with a routine kick forward. The ball is intercepted by Paul Sculthorpe and passed wide for Anthony Stewart to touch down in the corner. Sculthorpe knocks over the kick and Saints are just two points behind. 49 mins: St Helens 16-24 Bradford Paul Sculthorpe's long kick puts Bradford under pressure and Michael Withers is forced to concede a try-line drop-out. Sean Long then takes a quick tap penalty and goes over for the try. Paul Sculthorpe's conversion reduces the deficit to just eight points and an amazing comeback is on the cards. 45 mins: St Helens 10-24 Bradford Keiron Cunningham gives Saints a lifeline as he bursts on to a kick from Sean Long to touch down. Paul Sculthorpe converts from in front of the posts to cut the gap to 14 points. 42 mins: Saints look to strike with their first attack but yet another handling error lets them down. 1905 BST: St Helens kick off the second half looking to overturn a 20-point deficit. 1850 BST: St Helens 4-24 Bradford HT. The shellshocked St Helens players troop off to the dressing room knowing they will need a massive second-half display to turn the match around. 37 mins: Chris Joynt threatens the Bradford line as Saints finally mount a dangerous attack but he is stopped in his tracks by Michael Withers. 34 mins: St Helens 4-24 Bradford. The Bulls produce almost a carbon copy of their previous try as Paul Deacon chips through and Daniel Gartner touches down for his side's fourth try. Deacon makes no mistake with the conversion. 31 mins: St Helens 4-18 Bradford. Saints' woes continue as more sloppy passing allows the Bulls to surge forward again. James Lowes puts in a teasing low kick and Lesley Vainikolo dives forward to touch down at full stretch. Paul Deacon lands his third successful conversion to give the visitors a 14-point lead. 24 mins: Paul Deacon sends another clever kick in behind the Saints defence and Darren Albert is forced to concede a goal-line drop-out. 22 mins: Bradford almost catch Saints cold with Paul Deacon's short kick from the restart but the attack is halted five yards from the line. 20 mins:St Helens 4-12 Bradford. Paul Sculthorpe hits back immediately for Saints, sending Robbie Paul the wrong way with a dummy and going over for the try. But Sculthorpe sends his kick just wide of the posts to leave the home side eight points behind. 17 mins:St Helens 0-12 Bradford. Saints are left reeling as Paul Deacon sprints away after taking a quick tap penalty. Stuart Fielden is tackled just short of the line but Deacon's perfect kick sends Brandon Costin over in the corner. Deacon again converts to double the lead. 15 mins: Saints have a golden chance to level the scores but Chris Joynt fumbles Paul Sculthorpe's pass with a gap to the try-line looming in front of him. 13 mins: A great long kick from Bulls hooker James Lowes puts Saints under more pressure as the home side look in danger of being overwhelmed. 11 mins:St Helens 0-6 Bradford. The Bulls finally make their pressure count as Paul Deacon runs on to a clever kick from hooker James Lowes to touch down before converting his own try. 9 mins: Lesley Vainikolo chases a kick to the corner but Darren Albert gets there just before him. 7 mins: Bradford continue to attack but Saints defend well to stop Joe Vagana breaking through before Robbie Paul's fumble takes the pressure off. 4 mins: Bradford look to have drawn first blood as Stuart Fielden touches down. But the video referee decides Scott Naylor has interfered with Sonny Nickle and no try is given. 1 min: Saints pile on the pressure from the start with a low kick from Paul Sculthorpe. Bradford's Lesley Vainikolo is targeted with a high ball but safely takes it on his own line. St Helens make a last-minute change to their line-up, with Sean Hoppe coming in at scrum-half after Sean Long turns his ankle during the warm-up.
