The Cronulla Sharks star joins the club on a two-year deal with a further one year option.

"I have always said that it was my intention to return to England at some point of my career and I am keen to do that while I am at the peak of my game," McKenna told the Leeds website.

"I have achieved everything in Australia except a Grand Final winners medal which I am hoping to help the Sharks achieve this season.

"This will be another challenge for me and I am excited about joining one of the biggest clubs in the game. I hope that together we can be successful."

McKenna, who scored the opening try for Australia in their record defeat of Great Britain, has had two previous spells in England with Sheffield Eagles and the London Broncos.

Daryl Powell is delighted to have McKenna on board for next season.

"I played with Chris at Sheffield when he was 19 and he has developed into a world class player since then," said the Rhinos chief.

"He is player who knows the English game and is very ambitious."

Leeds chief executive Gary Hetherington added: "Chris is a top class player and professional.

"He is a very versatile player who is comfortable playing in the centres or the second row.

"This is a major coup for the Rhinos as Chris will be the only current Australian Test player to move to Super League for next season."
