Leigh see off brave Batley
Leigh's David Bradbury
David Bradbury scored a crucial try
Leigh 35-28 Batley

Leigh are through to the Northern Ford Premiership Grand Final thanks to victory over a brave Batley side.

They will now face Huddersfield on 12 October at Halton Stadium for a place in the Super League.

Leigh led 13-2 early on with tries from Dale Cardoza and Adam Bristow before unfancied Batley hit back with touchdowns from Kris Lythes and Craig Lingard to sneak 14-13 ahead.

Leon Felton gave Leigh a 17-14 half-time lead but Lingard's second try and a penalty from Dean Lawford put Batley in front again.

Leigh opened up a match-winning 33-20 advantage with quick-fire tries from David Bradbury, Oliver Marns and Simon Baldwin.

But Batley made them sweat at the end with late scores from Chris North and Leon Williamson.
