The New York Islanders picked up their first shutout of the season as Chris Osgood made 25 saves in the 3-0 win over the Carolina Hurricanes. Osgood killed off 10 penalties, while Mark Parrish, Alexei Yashin and Michael Peca all found the target at the other end. Roman Hamrlik, playing his first game since 10 December after a shoulder injury, boasted assists for all three goals. Minnesota Wild were also NHL winners on Saturday, Marian Gaborik scoring once and recording two assists as the Buffalo Sabres were swept aside 4-3. In Atlanta, Rob Zamuner and John Grahame were the stars as the Boston Bruins defeated the Thrashers 1-0. Zamuner scored the game's only goal during a power play late in the first period, while Grahame stopped 29 shots. |
