BBC Sport will be there every step of the way as 32,000 runners prepare to conquer the 26.2 mile course through the streets of London on 14 April. All the fun and excitement of the UK's biggest annual fundraising event will be captured on television, radio and online. Sue Barker hosts BBC1's live and uninterrupted coverage, which starts at 0845 and continues throughout the morning until 1400.
They will be commentating on the elite races, wheelchair races, and one of the most important elements in the London Marathon - the "fun" run. Motorbike reporters Richard Nerurkar and Peter Elliot will be keeping pace with the elite front runners. Meanwhile, Sally Gunnell, John Regis, Suzi Perry and Blue Peter's Simon Thomas will be on the streets, talking to some of the "fun" runners, many of whom raise huge amounts of money for charity - a major part of the success of the marathon. Later, Sunday Grandstand, presented by Hazel Irvine, will bring the highlights of the day's action on BBC2 at 1750. Former winner Charlie Spedding joins John Inverdale for Radio Five Live's coverage of the Flora London Marathon between 0830 and 1215, with commentary on the elite races from John Rawling, Mike Costello and Chicago Marathon winner Marion Sutton.
BBC Sport Online offers extensive coverage once again on its dedicated site at www.bbc.co.uk/marathon, containing the latest news, interviews and background features. The site will have minute-by-minute coverage on the day of the race, live audio commentary, and video highlights-on-demand afterwards. There is a advice on what to eat, the best things to do in the final count down to the race, as well as how to recover after the big day. The site will also include all the facts, figures, and history of the race, as well as the best places to watch events unfold along the course.
