Chester Jets' head coach Robbie Peers has swooped to sign last season's BBL top scorer Shawn Myers.

The 33-year-old 6ft 6in forward star averaged 23.68 points per game playing for Northern Conference rivals Newcastle Eagles, earning him a place in the BBL All-Star Game.

"Shawn played outstanding basketball last season and his statistics speak for themselves, not only in terms of his scoring, but his all-round game and I expect him to be an excellent signing for the Jets," said Peers.

Myers will link up with star player John McCord, as the team hope to repeat their brilliant form of last season.

The Jets won the BBL Championship, Northern Conference, ntl:home National Cup and the BBL Trophy as they enjoyed a domestic clean sweep of trophies.
