| Sunday, 10 November, 2002, 15:38 GMT Cross and Errigal draw again ![]() Enda McGinley is challenged by Martin Califf Crossmaglen Rangers 1-10 Crossmaglen Rangers and Errigal Ciaran still cannot be separated after two amazing matches in the Ulster club football championship. For the second week running Errigal staged a remarkable fightback and were winning with just a couple of minutes left. The replay will be in Clones on Sunday 17 November at 1400 GMT and the winners will play All-Ireland champions Ballinderry in the semi-final. The Tyrone champions had come from eight points down to draw with Crossmaglen in the first meeting at Healy Park in Omagh. And in the replay Errigal had a nightmare first half and scored just two points to Crossmaglen's one goal and eight points. However, they came storming back in the second half and, boosted by a Peter Canavan goal, managed to draw level. In the second half, each side had a player sent-off - Cross captain Anthony Cunningham and Errigal's Adrian O'Donnell. Crossmaglen had dominated the first half with Oisin McConville scoring some early points before setting up full-forward Tony McEntee for the opening goal. Errigal's two points were hit by Micky Harte from play in the fourth minute and Canavan with a 29th-minute free. Errigal turned the tables in the second half and scored a goal and six points without reply to draw level. James Hughes scored Cossmaglen's first point of the second half to edge the Armagh kingpins ahead again but Canavan sent the ball over once more to force the extra-time. Canavan had Errigal in front for the first time but John McEntee kept Cross in the competition with a long-range point. |
