Monty wins in China
Colin Montgomerie
Monty collected his first title in China
Colin Montgomerie shot a final-round 67 to come from behind and win the TCL Classic in China by two strokes.

The Scot overhauled Thailand's Thongchai Jaidee's two-shot overnight lead to win at the Harbour Plaza in Dongguan.

Montgomerie finished the tournament on 16-under-par to edge out the Asian PGA Tour champion, who failed to post a sub-70 score for the first time this week.

Jaidee could only card a one- under-par 71 that featured three bogeys.

Montgomerie, who shared the Volvo Masters title with Bernhard Langer at Valderrama last weekend, picked up his first career-win in China.

But he was full of praise for Jaidee, who he called the best golfer he has played with in Asia, after winning a fascinating tussle with the former paratrooper.

"I was driving the ball well and I was confident but I underestimated Mr Jaidee," said Montgomerie, who recorded back-to-back wins for only the third time in his career.

"He can play the game very well and it's good that Asian players can compete at that level.

"I didn't drop a shot in the last 41 holes. Over the weekend I had 10 birdies and no bogeys - that is why I won. It was nice not to drop a shot."

Lee Westwood, who saw his victory hopes dashed after a third-round 74, finished in a tie for 11th after a 71 on the final day.
