It's a fair cop Jinxed Coventry midfielder Keith O'Neill has broken his hand - on a fairground test-your-strength machine. The Republic of Ireland international has been out of action this season with injury, and decided to use his spare time nobly by supporting a charity event. Unfortunately, while he was there he took a swing at the punchbag and the rest is history. The unlucky player broke his leg at the end of last season and recently fractured his other foot. O'Neill is due to be back in action for Coventry sometime in the New Year. Don't hold your breath, Sky Blues fans. Pooling around Swimming champion Franziska van Almsick puts her success down to having sex before races.
The German star told Bild magazine: "Sex is a great thing and if I want to have it, then I don't care if it influences my swimming. "Sex has always given me a big boost." Franziska added that her favourite place to indulge her whims was in the water. Guaranteed to put off the competition. Naked ambition Staying on a similiar theme, three Romanian gymasts have been carpeted by their federation for posing nude in a Japanese magazine. Lavinia Milosevici, Corina Ungureanu and Claudia Presecan left nothing to the imagination in the shoot, which also featured them in national costumes. But Romanian officials were not amused, describing it as an "act of dubious taste which stains the image of the country's good tradition in gymnastics". Antena 1 television also claimed the trio were set to star in porn movies.
