| Monday, 17 February, 2003, 10:03 GMT Blades' Doane extends loan Sheffield United defender Ben Doane's loan spell at Mansfield has been extended by another month. Blades' boss Neil Warnock agreed with Stags' manager Keith Curle that the young defender would stay at Field Mill for a second month. Doane is no stranger to Curle, who coached him in Blades' reserve team last season. In the six games Doane has played so far for Mansfield, he has helped them to derby victories over Chesterfield and Notts County. The extension of Doane's loan spell means he will play a maximum of five more games for the Stags. Blades' assistant manager Kevin Blackwell told the club's official website: "Ben has done well during his first month. "We believe it will aid his development if he stays with Keith Curle a little longer. |
