Diouf ready for battle
El Hadji Diouf
Diouf is determined to break into Liverpool's first team
Liverpool striker El Hadji Diouf is confident he can cope with the pressure of expectation at Anfield.

Senegal international Diouf moved to Merseyside in a 10m deal during the summer and says he is concentrating on improving his own game at the club.

"My life has certainly changed since I arrived," Diouf told Le Parisien.

In clubs like Liverpool you always have to question yourself
El Hadji Diouf

"In Liverpool especially, football is like a religion and the way people look at me is different.

"But I remain the same and I am ready to cope with all that. The only thing that interests me is to make the most of that experience."

Diouf is determined to break into the Liverpool first team but accepts that he has to earn his place and that he will have to sit out certain games.

"In clubs like Liverpool you always have to question yourself," he said.

"To play on a Saturday you have to deserve it during the week in training.

"So I am trying to do my best, I am eager to progress fast, but I also know that because of the schedule I will not always be in the first team.

"The coach will have to rotate the squad which is very rich, both in quantity and quality."
