Piper: Hopes other players will follow suit
Leicester winger Matt Piper has signed a new three-year contract with the club.

Piper's signature will be a boost to Foxes manager Micky Adams as the club prepares for life in Division One.

The 20-year-old, City's Young Player of the Year, told the club's official website: "It was an easy decision to make.

"I've always wanted to stay here and it gave me great pleasure to get it all sorted out. I'm absolutely delighted.

"As a local lad it means a lot to me to commit my future to the club.

"I've been here since the age of nine and this club is in my heart.

"It proves that the academy is working behind the scenes and hopefully there will be many more to follow me.

"My aim is to score the first goal in the new stadium. After that, it's to stay in the team and help us get promoted."

Foxes chairman Martin George added: "This is a great boost for the club as we prepare for life in the First Division.

"I'm delighted that Matt has agreed to stay with us for the next three years and this shows how much we recognise the impact of the youngsters."
