West snag for Dunfermline
Dunfermline Athletic's bid to sign former Inter Milan defender Taribo West may be in jeopardy as a result of the player's demands.

Taribo West in action for Nigeria
Nigeria's Taribo West played for Derby County
The Nigerian World Cup star was in Fife on Tuesday afternoon and, after watching the Pars beat Falkirk in the CIS Cup, trained with the squad on Wednesday morning.

West has since returned to his home in Milan, leaving his representatives to try and thrash out a contract with the Pars.

Club chairman John Yorkston made it clear that the problem did not lie with a salary for the player, but it appears that extra conditions are causing a problem.

If the complicated negotiations are successful, West will come back to Scotland on Tuesday.

The former Derby and AC Milan star has been without a club since falling out with German side Kaiserlautern in April.

I'd say we are 80 percent there
Dunfermline chairman John Yorkston

"I'd say we are 80 percent there and the wages are something which we've covered already," Yorkston said.

"It's all the extras that we have to get down and discuss now.

"We're all hoping that it will come to fruition, but until he actually puts pen to paper then we'll never know."
