But he told BBC Sport Online he is now keen on a move to north London. "Arsenal would be an ideal team for me to play in I think," he said. "My style of play is similar to that of Thierry Henry or former Gunners striker Nicolas Anelka. "They are the club I really admire. My dream is to play in the Premiership and if I could do that with Arsenal, it would be fantastic." Kpaka's excellent form has aroused interest from several European clubs, but a lucrative move failed to materialise before the Uefa transfer window closed. "Last season I had interest from clubs here in Belgium, German clubs and French clubs, but because of the crisis in the transfer market, my move didn't come through," Kpaka said. But he remains hopeful that when the transfer window reopens later this year, his current sparkling form will have caught the eye of some high profile European clubs. "If I keep playing like this, maybe when the transfer window opens in December, I'll have a chance." And England would remain his first choice destination, even if Arsenal did not come in for him. "It would be a dream to play in the Premiership, I think it's a fantastic league, it's the best league in the world." |
