Arsenal striker Kanu has dismissed claims that he may be forced to leave the club in search of regular football. Kanu was reported to have claimed he was unhappy at not getting a regular game for the Gunners under their squad-rotation system. The Nigerian is competing with Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp, Sylvain Wiltord and Francis Jeffers for a starting spot at Highbury. But on Sunday Kanu denied ever making such claims. He said: "I never said what was reported in a Sunday newspaper. "I'm very happy at Arsenal, I love the club and the fans and like everyone else in the squad I know that I have to fight for my place." Earlier this week Kanu's team-mate Francis Jeffers admitted that he may have to leave Highbury if he fails to make a first-team breakthrough. |
