Livi and Pars all square
Oscar Rubio gets to grips with Gary Dempsey
Livingston and Dunfermline cancelled each other out
Livingston 1-1 Dunfermline

Livingston and Dunfermline will have to do it all over again at East End Park after reaching stalemate in a hard-fought Scottish Cup clash at the City Stadium.

The home side took a first-half lead against a lacklustre Dunfermline after Gary Bollan's free-kick struck team-mate Francisco Quino on the way into goal.

But the Pars came out fighting in the second half and earned a replay with Stevie Crawford's 16th goal of the season.

Dunfermline carved out the game's first real chance in the 23rd minute - and it should have given them the lead.

Crawford's cross-field pass was missed by Marvin Andrews, allowing Craig Brewster to advance on goal.

But from 12 yards the hitman - a former Scottish Cup winner with Dundee United - fired into the side netting.

The visitors were made to pay for that miss two minutes later when Bollan's 25-yard shot hit the shoulder of Quino and flew into the Dunfermline net.

Livi came within inches of extending their lead five minutes before the break when Rolando Zarate's header from a Barry Wilson corner crashed off the underside of the bar.

There was controversy in the 54th minute when Andrews looked to have deliberately played the ball with his hand to prevent Brewster breaking through.

With the ball rebounding to Crawford referee Alan Freeland decided to play advantage but the Dunfermline man was crowded out by the Livi defence.

Seconds later Crawford created space on the edge of the box but his powerful shot bounced off the chest of goalkeeper David McEwan and was cleared to safety.

Dunfermline boss Jimmy Calderwood replaced Chris McGroarty with Steve Hampshire in the 61st minute and the change brought an almost instant reward.

Stevie Crawford scored for the Pars
Follwing a David McEwan save from a Barry Nicholson free kick, Hampshire met the ball with his first touch at the edge of the area and saw his shot turned in at the post by Crawford.

A desperate clearance from Andrews stopped the Pars taking the lead seven minutes later.

Brewster played a Sean Kilgannon cross into the path of Crawford, and the Scotland star's first-time shot was heading for the goal before Andrews prodded it to safety.

Both sides missed chances to claim the tie in the closing minutes. A last-ditch block by Gary Dempsey denied Davide Xausa a late Livi winner.

As the action flowed to the other end McEwan earned hero status when he dived bravely at the feet of Crawford to prevent the forward rounding him.

Livi's Oscar Rubio then saw a header cleared off the line by Hampshire.
