Mark Hughes' side moved up from 89th to 76th thanks to this month's 2-0 away win over Finland in their opening Euro 2004 qualifier. Only Libya, who move up 16 places to 104, have made a greater leap than Wales. Out-of-form Scotland have slipped three places to 63rd and England are back two places to ninth. The Republic of Ireland drop one place to 14th, while Northern Ireland are now 98th. Itlay, who play Wales in the next round of Euro 2004 qualifiers in October, are down one place to 10th. 1 (1) Brazil 858 points |
