| Thursday, 13 February, 2003, 00:43 GMT Kidderminster 1-3 Oxford Utd Oxford moved into an automatic promotion place with a convincing win over Kidderminster at Aggborough. Two goals in eight first-half minutes set the Us on their way to a victory which dents the home side's own play-off aspirations. Kidderminster had only themselves to blame for the defeat, with all three of Oxford's goals coming as a result of defensive errors. In the 21st minute Harriers defender Adie Smith's tackle on Andy Scott saw the ball break to Steve Basham, who shot home past goalkeeper Stuart Brock from the edge of the penalty area. Worse was to come for Kidderminster when defender Craig Hinton turned the ball into his own net after Dave Savage and Scott had headed on Roy Hunter's long throw. Harriers rallied, though, and pulled a goal back six minutes into the second half when Sean Parrish was on hand to tap in after a fine run and cross by Andy Bishop. But the visitors killed the game off after Brock failed to collect a ball just inside his area and Scott volleyed into an empty net. Kidderminster: Brock, Coleman, Hinton, Smith, Bennett, Flynn, Williams, Parrish, Shilton, Henriksen, Bishop. Subs: Foster, Danby, Ducros, Ayres, Broughton. Oxford Utd: Woodman, Edwards, Crosby, Bound, McNiven, Hunter, Hunt, Savage, Robinson, Basham, Scott. Subs: Whitehead, Oldfield, Steele, Louis, Waterman. Referee: S Tomlin. |
