Ghana 1-1 Egypt Ivory Coast have taken control of Group B at the U20 African Nations Cup after a controversial win over Morocco. Some of the Moroccan players and officials were so incensed with the result they attacked Guinean referee Mustapha Keita after he turned down two penalties. The match officials had to be protected by security staff It was Ivory Coast's Andre Michel Saki's left-foot drive that gave his side victory in what was an otherwise unconvincing display. Morocco came close to equalising through Mustapha Alaoui who shot wide after having only the keeper to beat, but they lost their way after Salaheddine Aqqal was sent-off in the second-half. Ghana and Egypt each played to a second draw, with the Egyptians coming from behind again. Abdel Hosni hit a looping volley from outside the box in the 49th minute after the Ghanaian keeper Alex Agyepong had left his line. Ghana took the lead early in the first-half with the best goal of the tournament so far with Derrick Boateng's spectacular bicycle kick. Egypt had the edge throughout and could have easily won the game. Defender Amir Azmy Megahd was unlucky not to score as his header bounced off the upright. The standings mean that Ivory Coast will go through if they can draw, while all the other sides need a win to guarantee a place in the semi-finals. | See also: 08 Jan 03 | Africa 06 Jan 03 | Africa 05 Jan 03 | Africa Top Cup of Nations stories now: Links to more Cup of Nations stories are at the foot of the page. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
