Zambian pros deny quit threat
Andrew Sinkala
Sinkala says Zambia's FA should value their skills

Moses Sichone and Andrew Sinkala, Zambia's German-based professionals, are demanding for improved conditions from the Football Association if they are to continue playing for the country.

Faz do not appreciate our efforts
Moses Sichone

Denying allegations of nonchalance towards the affairs of the national team, both players say that there are outstanding issues that must be resolved.

"It irritates me when you put in everything for Zambia but the Faz (Football Association of Zambia) do not appreciate your efforts," said Sichone.

"People must understand that when I wear the national colours I don't do so to please individuals but the country."

Silence

Officials within Faz told BBC Sport Online that its refusal to pay "special match allowances" to both players is the bone of contention.

Evaristo Kasunga, Zambia's FA president.
Kasunga has kept silent over the dispute

"Faz should learn to co-operate with players, especially professionals, because they have got a lot to contribute," said Sinkala.

"I am still young and I have no intention of retiring from international football, when playing for the country provides me with a lot of exposure."

Evaristo Kasunga, president of the Zambian FA, has refused to go public with the facts behind the dispute, a major talking point in Zambian football circles.

"Before the Nations Cup match against Sudan, Sichone called me and set out conditions, which I did not agreed with," Kasunga told BBC Sport Online.

"They (the players) are the ones who should tell the nation what terms they have set."
