Pros help out Tanzania
Tanzania's Under-20 side
Most of the Under-20s now make up Tanzania's first team

Tanzania's Taifa Stars have received a timely boost ahead of their Nations Cup campaign next month.

Two of the country's European professionals are set to join the squad for their Nations Cup qualifier against Benin.

Interim coach Salum Madadi has named 30 players for the qualifier including Renatus Njohole and Albert Sengo.

Njohole plays for Swiss second division Yverdon Sport while Sengo is based at German second division club Bonner FC.

Yverdon Sport confirmed to BBC Sport Online that they had received a request from the Football Association of Tanzania (FAT) to release the player for next month's qualifier.

"Yes, I confirm Renatus has been called for the National Team and Yverdon Sport will let him go," said Yverdon official Stphanie Cornu.

The inclusion of the European-based duo will be a major boost for the crisis-hit Taifa Stars, who have changed coaches three times since January.

Madad is handling the team while FAT looks for a suitable foriegn coach.

Madad told journalists on Monday in Dar es Salaam that the selected players had been asked to report to a training camp on Tuesday.

No international friendly matches have been arranged for the team so far.

The Taifa Stars is now made up mainly of under 20 players after the national team was disbanded in May following their poor performances in a series of friendly matches.

The team will have to top group C that includes Benin, Sudan and Zambia to qualify for Tunisia 2004, if they do so it will be the first time the Taifa Stars have qualified for the Nations Cup finals since 1980.
