Republic of Ireland Under-21 captain Goodwin has decided to join Stockport County. Convery has opted to move to Irish League side Portadown. But Kharine is not being offered a new contract after playing just seven games in three seasons with the Scottish champions. Kharine finished the season third choice behind Rab Douglas and Jonathan Gould. The 33-year-old had signed for then Celtic head coach John Barnes on a 10,000 per week deal. Goodwin rejected an offer of a new, one-year deal with Celtic to secure first-team football and also had offers from Birmingham City, Bradford City and Plymouth Argyle. The 20-year-old opted for a three-year deal with Stockport, who were this season relegated to England's Second Division. Convery, who had joined from Glenavon in 1997, was out of contract at the end of the season and decided to head back to Northern Ireland. The 22-year-old had only made one substitute appearance for the Celtic first team and was on loan to Falkirk this season. |
