Hoggard climbs rankings
Matthew Hoggard
Hoggard has the ability to trouble the best
England's Matthew Hoggard has moved into the top 20 of the Test bowling rankings after a successful winter on tour in India and New Zealand.

The Yorkshireman has advanced 10 places to 16th in the PwC list after claiming 26 wickets in six Tests.

Darren Gough remains the highest ranked England bowler in seventh place despite not playing in either series, with Andy Caddick, who took 19 wickets in New Zealand, two places lower.

The top five places remain unchanged, with Sri Lankan Muttiah Muralitharan still ahead of Gleen McGrath, Shaun Pollock, Shane Warne and Anil Kumble.

Graham Thorpe is the highest placed player in the batting rankings, but has slipped two places to 16th.

Opener Marcus Trescothick has dropped out of the top 20 despite scoring 412 Test runs during the winter, and is now ranked 25th.
