![]() | Caddick: Fleming decision odd ![]() Caddick removes Nathan Astle - his 200th Test wicket After taking the four wickets he needed to go to 200 in Tests, England's Andy Caddick said he was perplexed that opposing skipper Stephen Fleming had allowed the tourists to bowl first in Auckland. Caddick said: "I can't understand why Stephen Fleming decided to bat first. It was very wet underneath first thing. "It's a bit of a slow track at the moment but will probably quicken up as the match goes on." Click here for scorecard: New Zealand 154-5 (Harris 55*, Caddick 4-57) Caddick was as frustrated as most of the players and fans were prevented from getting more cricket on day one, with just 54 overs possible - partly due to insufficient floodlighting at Eden Park. The Somerset paceman said: "I would like to have taken a couple more wickets tonight but hopefully it will be a better day for England tomorrow.
"The 200 wickets is nice - it's a milestone you get to as a Test player and something I've looked forward to. "Now 250 is beckoning - hopefully something I'll get in the next couple of years - but the target tomorrow is to get this lot out." Apart from Caddick's four wickets, only one other wicket came the way of the England attack - when Matthew Hoggard dismissed Fleming. Caddick said: "All credit to Hoggy and Freddie [Andrew Flintoff] who have been running into the wind, but we as a group have to pull together and do a little bit better in the morning. "New Zealand are 40 to 50 runs too many ahead - they've come out positive but if a couple more umpiring decisions had gone our way we would have done OK." Harris Chris Harris was the thorn in England's side. He will start off on Sunday on 55 not out after spending the Wellington Test as a summariser for Test Match Special. Harris said: "At 19-4 we were obviously a little bit worried but we managed to battle through. "At 151-5 we are in an average position but from where we were it's a great position. "It would be nice to go onto three figures - a nice story to tell my grandchildren, but I have to start all over again in the morning." | Internet links: The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites Other top England stories: Links to more England stories are at the foot of the page. | |||
